Launch of Rungis' 40th anniversary...
Mr Marc Spielrein, President of the Rungis International Market officially launched the countdown to Rungis Market’s 40th anniversary celebrations on 27 November 2008. Between 3 March 1969, when the Les Halles food market in Paris moved to Rungis, and 3 March 2009, forty years of intense activity have turned Rungis into the “World Capital of Fresh Produce.”
Some spectacular parades and numerous events were held in all the pavilions for the launch of the Market’s 40th anniversary, culminating in a fireworks display, illuminating the entire Rungis Tower.
