Rungis
Burgundy comes to Rungis!
Burgundy is a farming region where one part of the production (3.15 billion euros) is preponderant for its economy :
- 22,359 farm owners and 36,000 farm workers (5.5 % of the working population and an effective farmed surface of nearly 60%);
- AOC and other quality products: cheeses, vineyards, meat, etc.
These are just some of the many opportunities and assets that the regional council of Burgundy would like to consolidate and promote at all levels of production and distribution.
To that end, it organized two promotional days for Burgundy products at Rungis on Tuesday 14 and Wednesday 15 October 2008, to:
- promote the products from Burgundy present at Rungis with professionals and opinion leaders: wines, cheeses, meats, poultry, processed products, horticultural products
- facilitate access to Rungis by new producers from Burgundy; lead a reflection on distribution channels between brokers and referents from Burgundy (agricultural chambers, CRCI, producers’ federations, etc.).
