Chilean fruit on display at Rungis

As part of its European roadshow, the Chilean Fresh Fruit Association (representing producers-exporters of fresh fruit from Chile) stopped off last 13 and 14 May at Rungis Market (parking C3). For the occasion, a podium bus was supplied to Rungis professionals so they might follow the various conferences on Chilean fruit. In addition, Mrs Pilar Armanet, the Chilean ambassadress to France, accompanied by Mr Christian Carvajal (Marketing Manager Europe-Asia Asoex) and Mrs Lianne Jones (European Field Manager Asoex), visited the fruit and vegetable pavilions, guided by Mr Francis Lefèvre, Secretary General of Semmaris.
Chile represents 49% of fresh fruit exports from the southern hemisphere, given that fruit is the country’s first food production (24%) with table grapes and apples the leading products. Europe (29%) is the second destination for fresh fruit from Chile, after North America (USA - Canada, 40%).
