Hollywood scriptwriters at Rungis
From 6 to 13 November 2008, ten of the best scriptwriters from the largest American film studios came to visit several unique, symbolic sites in the Paris region, including Rungis Market. Organized by France’s National Film Commission, the purpose of this trip was to persuade them to include natural decors or French characters in their upcoming films and scripts. At Rungis, some of the scriptwriters, namely John August, Michael Brandt, Michaël Dougherty (X-men 2), John Lee Hancock (A perfect world) and Edward Neumeier (Robocop), accompanied famous chef Alain Ducasse while he did his shopping. As Franck Priot, deputy Managing Director of Film France, says: “Rungis is a fantastic cinema location.”
