Rungis at the Fruit Logistica trade show
The 16th Fruit Logistica trade show (Exhibition Centre – Berlin) was held on 7 to 9 February last. This international trade show for marketing fruit and vegetables is a key event worldwide, with 81,000 m2 floor space, over 2,000 exhibitors representing 70 countries and 50,000 professional visitors from 125 countries. Rungis International Market shared a stand (100 m2) there with Mercamadrid (Madrid wholesale market) on which several companies from Rungis Market were also represented (Vinas, Sofiprim, Terrre de fruits, Reverdy, Beausse, Charraire). During this trade show, Semmaris handed out about a hundred USB keys to journalists from the trade press and over 300 gift bags (including the list of Rungis Market fruit and vegetable operators). A guided tour of the Berlin Market was also organized. Lastly, Rungis International Market and Mercamadrid had invited all the representatives of wholesale markets belonging to the World Union of Wholesale Markets (150 people). This 16th edition was very successful.
During the show, the Mandar group (important fruit and vegetable operator of Rungis Market) confirmed its acquisition of a controlling interest in Les Jardins du Midi. This new entity will represent 400 employees and a turnover of €120 million.
