Competition for the best fishmonger- fish scaler apprentice at Rungis
The national final of the competition “One of the Best Apprentices of France” - Fishmonger-Fish scaler category, was held on 16 June last, at the CFA Poissonnerie of Rungis. Sponsored by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Trade, SMEs and Crafts, this tough competition brought together the five finalists from the departmental and regional qualifiers for the first time at the CFA Rungis. After some particularly selective examinations, three students of the CFA Poissonnerie of Rungis won prizes: Florian Magin (Onno fishmonger in Créteil), Quentin Lorotte (Henri fishmonger in La Courneuve 93) for Best Apprentice of France (national) and Mickaël Varlet (Lejeune fishmonger - Paris) for Best Apprentice of France (regional). They will be given their medals at a large reception at the Senate to be held in early 2009. This was a wonderful victory for the students, teachers and managers of the CFA Poissonnerie of Rungis, which recorded a 95% success rate on the CAP and BEP exams. For even more success and high performance, the CFA team has been reinforced by the arrival of Mr Stéphane Minot (MOF) as a trainer in filleting. He is replacing Mr Bruno Gauvain who was promoted to director of the CFA Poissonnerie.
