Isabelle Saccucci was born in Paris into a Franco-Italian family (an Italian father, a glazier by trade, and a French mother, a civil servant at the Department of Justice). After obtaining a literature baccalaureate, she started her first job at the age of 19 years as accountant at a company in the Senia zone, specialising in commercial catering. She spent ten years at a distributor of Mercedes heavy goods vehicles, and then, in 1997, joined a British company present at Rungis where she stayed for five years. Fluent in English, Italian and German, she went on to work at a haulage company before finally joining Burbank Produce Ltd. (based in Bradford Market, 35 employees), a company run by the four Kershaw brothers, and where she works as the company's sales rep in France.
"I am mainly responsible for company management and administration. We ship a little over 180 pallets of top-quality fresh produce from Rungis twice a week. Intended for export to the UK, this produce chiefly concerns salads (in a multitude of varieties), potatoes, fruits and vegetables, organic produce, as well as catering and delicatessen products and Italian produce purchased at Rungis or sometimes directly from Italy.
We select our produce from Rungis stores known for their excellent range quality. The products are delivered to our platform where they are then prepared by Mr Alain Néari, our business associate, and shipped to the UK by our lorries. People in Britain are increasing the demand for high-quality produce and have a particular fondness for French produce, as well as for any new products. The products are sent to wholesalers, semi-wholesalers, hotels and restaurants in London and the northern UK. Our shipments are rising by 4% per year. Rungis Market is unbeatable for the range of its produce; you won't find a bigger or better range anywhere in the world. You can find anything a customer might want here. Rungis is a doorway wide open to the United Kingdom and other countries, which is why, as far as we are concerned, Rungis is the realm for top-of-the-range, high-quality produce… ".
