Corporate Secretary
In relationship with the appropriate departments of SEMMARIS, the Corporate Secretary is responsible for various missions regarding the Market’s operating rules and miscellaneous topics. They relate to
- Health and safety
- Environnemental regulations for the equipment
- Statistics
- Visits of official and VIPs
- International relations and links with the European Union
- Employment
- The Orly-Rungis pole
The Corporate Secretary coordinates the set-up and follow-up of procedures, both regarding health & safety and environmental regulations.
SEMMARIS is responsible for setting-up the veterinary approval of the market’s buildings. This is complemented by an individual approval for every tenant which they need to request individually.
In the context of the World Union of Wholesale Markets (WUWM) and alongside the European Union, SEMMARIS and the French Federation of Wholesale Markets (FFMIN) lead the way in terms of health and safety, through the creation of a common guide of best practices.
The Statistics Office takes part in the understanding of the market’ operation as follows:
- The annual turnover survey
- The setting-up of monthly volume reporting by products
- The updating of the tenants' database
- The realization of spscific surveys
The Corporate Secretary takes part in the reinforcement of the French production at Rungis thanks to meetings with producers’ associations, whether SEMMARIS organizes them or participates to some of them.
Son rôle, en matière internationale, s’exerce à travers les visites du M.I.N, qu’il organise et accompagne, par les relations qu’il entretient avec els Ambassades et les milieux commerciaux, mais aussi en participant à des travaux au sein d’organisations à caractère international.
Regarding international relationships, it organizes visits of the Market, it builds relations with foreign embassy and regional development agencies, and participates to workshops with international organizations
The « Rungis Emploi » Office manages the job offer and demand on the Market. After job interviews with applicants, meetings take place with selected managing directors at Rungis. In 2007, 150 contracts were signed, of which 100 as permanent jobs.
Besides, the Corporate Secretary participates with the Tenants Association (Unigros) to a leading operation aiming at gathering the action of the organizations in charge of employment on the Market.
The Secretary represents SEMMARIS in various organizations involved the Orly-Rungis pole and takes part in workshops regarding business, employment, transport and environment. With 65,000 jobs, this pole is the second largest business pole in Ile de France after La Defense business centre.
