Fire safety Department
Initially set up to handle fire safety in the Rungis Tower (high-rise building), the Semmaris Fire Safety Department was expanded in 1994 to handle duties throughout the Rungis Market.
This department has 28 Semmaris employees, specially trained in fire fighting, who can intervene anywhere, anytime at Rungis Market. The principal preventive and operational missions are the following :
PREVENTION (in 2006, 3,000 preventive patrols and 550 companies inspected every year)
- Fire patrol
- Inspection of common and private areas of buildings
- Verification of fire fighting systems (extinguisher, fire extinguishers, etc.)
- Issue and supervision of fire permits for works or other activities
- Supervision of fire safety rules
OPERATION (more than 1,600 operations every year)
- Operations in response to fire or technical alarms
- Fire fighting operations
- Operations concerning technical facilities or accidents (lifts, flooding, etc. )
The Fire Safety Department is equipped with high performance vehicles and equipment to carry out its missions.
