What we do
Rungis International Market is organized in 5 main geographical areas known as sectors, which correspond to the following activities:
- Fruit and vegetables
- Horticulture and decoration
- Seafood and warehouses
- Meat products
- Dairy products and delicatessen
A sector is a team of Semmaris employees, led by the sector manager and assistant manager. The sector’s principal missions are the following:
- Supervising all tenants, buildings, infrastructures and other facilities
- Acting as an interface between tenants, users and Semmaris departments
- Contributing to the business development of their area by finding customers, proposing developments, refurbishments and other improvements
- Making sure that transactions run smoothly and the market regulation is applied
- Collecting statistics and other data necessary for the good management of Rungis International Market
The other parts of the 232 ha are managed by:
- The entry permits-parking-security cards sector (S.A.P.S), which groups "Rungis Accueil" (edition of purchasing passes entry permits, supervision of market porters and registration of forklift trucks), the control of the various accesses (Point E, Eurodelta, toll booths) and fire safety (fire, first aid, road accidents, flooding, etc.)
- The General Market Surveillance (SGM), which runs surveys relating to the "reference perimeter" (area protected by a law that prevents the set-up of any whosale business within km from Rungis), in addition to its security mission
- The Lettings Department for Espace Rungis, the banks, institutions and authorities
