"I was born in the Paris region to Cantalian parents. My father was an architect, councillor at Saint-Maur-des-Fossés since 1959, deputy mayor in charge of the Environment and president of the Horticultural Society.
As a young girl, I studied ballet, modern jazz and Russian dancing, and became captain of the Majorettes. This led me to participate in the inauguration of the Rungis MIN attended by Mr. Nungesser, and represent my town of Saint-Maur-des-Fossés in Senegal, Germany, Italy, etc., voyages that were to decide my future profession. Having been awarded a baccalaureate with distinction, I joined the tourism section of the Ecole Des Cadres (Executive School) where I obtained my BTS (higher technician's licence).
Just after leaving school, I started work at the Havas agency in Créteil. Two years later, VIA Voyages offered me the position of Tourism Manager at Rungis Market, which I held for eight years. Next, I decided to start my own business - Rungis Voyages - in 1989 and set up shop near to the Seafood Pavilion, a warm and friendly place that inspired a desire to travel. My first customers were operators at the MIN, then by word of mouth this expanded beyond the Market to greater Paris, the French Midi and even abroad. I joined AFAT (French Association of Independent Travel Agencies) a major group of tourism professionals, in 1996.
As the tourism business is a vast communications hub, it is vital to participate in the various events, to focus on a network of contacts and travel frequently to enhance performance and better serve and advise customers.
I opened a second agency in the Rungis Tower in 2003, with a tropical beach decor that stimulates peoples' wish for change of scenery. As a service provider, I am available twenty-four hours a day and seven days a week; my customers know I'll always be there for them.
Currently, my customer base comprises 60% MIN operators and 40% external customers. Generally, the former travel to combine professional commitments and personal leisure time. The most popular destinations are Asia and the Caribbean, symbolising exotic sun, sand and sea. The most popular formula is the package holiday (plane ticket, transfer, airport assistance, hotel accommodation). Overall, our business deals with 60% tourism and 40% straight flights.
I love it here; it couldn't be better for me as Rungis is an open door to the rest of the world".
