Philippe Dekker

Although Philippe Dekker was born in the Seine et Marne department, he preferred to keep the nationality of his Dutch father, who passed on a love of this profession to him. You have to catch the “bug” to become a horticulturist. He caught the horticulture bug at a very young age. He started off in the family business with his sister, Chantal. Then, in 1989, he decided to set up his own business. He took over 5,400 m² of greenhouses, grows over 500,000 pansies and 200,000 plants per year. “My production is tied to the Parisian market,” he points out. He delegates the marketing of his production to another company, Paris Nord Plante. His company made its reputation with hanging plants with an integrated water tank and jardinières and plant basins for cities. All his soils are enriched with slow-release fertilizers. Philippe Dekker likes to do beautiful work and do it efficiently. He feels that these two qualities are what make Ile-de-France stand out.
